Pharmacy Students Place in Top 10 at National Clinical Skills Competition MacKenzie Crist and Seda Donmez

12/14/2016 - For the third consecutive year, St. John Fisher College Wegmans School of Pharmacy students placed in the Top 10 during the Clinical Skills Competition, held by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). MacKenzie Crist and Seda Donmez, both P4 students, rose to the top against 131 teams from across the nation.

11/17/2016 - The Wegmans School of Pharmacy at St. John Fisher College announced today a new effort to fight prescription medication misuse in the Rochester region. The School, in partnership with the Rochester Area Society of Health System Pharmacists (RASHP), New York State Senator Rich Funke, and Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, will distribute 7,000 medication deactivation pouches to community agencies, encouraging the safe disposal of unused prescription medications.

11/10/2016 - Dr. Amy Parkhill, associate professor in the St. John Fisher College Wegmans School of Pharmacy, was honored with the Make a Difference Award from 13thirty Cancer Connect, a regional non-profit that provides support for adolescents and young adults impacted by cancer. Parkhill was formally recognized by the organization during its annual Journeys celebration, held on Saturday, Oct. 15.

10/27/2016 - The Wegmans School of Pharmacy engaged a series of events and awareness efforts to celebrate National Pharmacy Week, held Oct. 16-22. The national celebration is sponsored by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and seeks to acknowledge the invaluable contributions that pharmacists and technicians make to patient care in hospitals, ambulatory care clinics, and other health care settings.

10/13/2016 - Next month, members of the community have the chance to hear from national and local experts on how best to improve their physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual well-being, thanks to a day-long event on holistic health care. The Integrative Medicine Symposium, slated for Saturday, Nov. 5, will be held at St. John Fisher College.

09/29/2016 - This Alumni Weekend, the Wegmans School of Pharmacy community will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the founding of the School with an alumni luncheon, continuing education program, and a bench dedication ceremony in honor of Dr. Scott Swigart, the School’s founding dean. The celebration culminates with a dinner on Saturday, Oct. 1.

09/22/2016 - This summer, a record 48 students from the Wegmans School of Pharmacy engaged in domestic service trips or international medical missions. In what’s become a capstone experience, the trips provide opportunities for students to work with under-served populations, often working on health care teams at local health clinics.
