Each year, Fisher recognizes members of the graduating class in the “Countdown to Commencement” series where rising graduates are nominated by faculty and staff for the impact they have made on the campus community.
Meet nursing major Abdulhady Homed. Abdulhady is a First-Generation Scholar and is on the executive board of the Muslim Student Alliance (MSA) on campus. He immediately became a leader when stepping foot on campus and has been an advocate for his peers in the First-Generation Scholar program, started MSA in his sophomore year, led coalitions of staff and students to discuss DEI issues important to campus and the community, and became the voice for many in the Fisher student body.
Meet nursing major Alivia Collins. She is the oldest of three siblings currently attending St. John Fisher College. On campus, she is part of the Campus Ministry Peer Minister Program. As a peer minister, she co-leads the Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) Program. Collins is currently on the cross country indoor and outdoor track team, serving as captain.
Meet legal studies and American studies double major Andrew Cegielski. He is a member of the Pre-Law Association, Fisher Dance team, Student Government Association, and Mock Trial team. He is also part of the Honors Program and is a First-Generation Scholar and Empire 8 Scholar Athlete, representing the men’s tennis team. In addition to his dual major, he minors in philosophy and visual and performing arts. He also serves as a student ambassador and residential assistant for the College.
Meet Service Scholar and psychology major Cindy Ramos. The New Jersey native is part of the Peer Ministry Program and Health and Wellness Peer Support Team. She is also a TRIO-SSS tutor and advocate, while also being an orientation leader and library assistant. Since her first day on campus, she has been visible and involved in the College's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Meet nursing major Halle Tickell. She is a member of the women’s soccer team, indoor and outdoor track and field team, and Honors Program on campus. She is also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and has served as the Empire 8 female representative for the past two years. Finally, she is the events and collaboration captain on the Teddi Committee.
Meet inclusive adolescence education major Kaylee Greene. She is a First-Generation scholar and Honors student. In her sophomore year, Kaylee was the head of technology for the “SJFC Take a Leap” program put on by the Honors Program. She was also the president of the Physics Club and is currently the learning assistant in a PHYS141 (General Physics Workshop I) class.
Meet economics and mathematics double major MacGregor Winegard. He is a member of the Peer Ministry Program, a residential assistant, student ambassador, and serves on the Student Government Association (SGA) board as a senator. In addition, he is a member of Pi Mu Epsilon (National Mathematics Society), Teddi Dance for Love, and is currently serving as an executive intern in the Office of Institutional Advancement.
Meet sport management major Rachel Makowski. She is the current Sport Management Club president, a Teddi Dance for Love finance committee member, and a math tutor. She has been interning with the Buffalo Bills for two years. After graduation, she will continue her internship with the Bills in their equipment department for the entirety of the 2022-2023 season.
