St. John Fisher College Pharmacy Faculty Study Effects of New Dispensing Device on Medication Adherence Dispensing Device

10/28/2015 - Faculty at St. John Fisher College’s Wegmans School of Pharmacy have released preliminary results from a study of a new home medication adherence system. The system, MedaCube, includes a fully automated dispenser, and seeks to solve the “forgot to take meds” medication adherence problem. Early results from the study show that, on average, the dispenser boosts medication adherence rates in previously nonadherent patients to 94 percent.

09/24/2015 - St. John Fisher College graduate students from three healthcare disciplines will receive interprofessional training in how to best work with patients who require substance abuse screenings, interventions, and referrals to treatment, thanks to a $867,000 grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

09/22/2015 - St. John Fisher College celebrated the opening of its new Integrated Science and Health Sciences building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 22. The 31,000 square foot academic facility includes two 100-seat classrooms, teaching laboratories, a lab prep room, faculty offices, and breakout spaces for student collaboration.

07/30/2015 - St. John Fisher College’s Wegmans School of Pharmacy will launch a new Continuing Professional Education program, which recently received accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. The program aims to provide quality continuing education to faculty, alumni, and preceptors, while continuing the School’s rich collaborations with local pharmacy organizations.
