Fisher Students Aim to Make Virtual Teddi “Best One Yet”

February 19, 2021

St. John Fisher College’s annual Teddi Dance for Love will see big changes as the committee creates the first-ever virtual experience for dancers and the children of Camp Good Days and Special Times.

Dancers link arms at the 2020 Teddi Dance for Love.

With COVID-19 safety precautions limiting the number of students who can gather in-person, many dancers will tune in to a live stream from the event’s headquarters in Cleary Family Auditorium in Kearney Hall.

A 24-hour dance marathon that has raised more than $1 million for Camp Good Days, the event will be held from 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19 through 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20.

From their residence halls or homes, dancers will tune into a live Zoom of the dance, enjoy performances from campus and community musical acts, take to social media for fun dance challenges, and see much-loved traditions re-imagined while new ones are made.

The Teddi 39 committee is no less ambitious than those of the past; they hope to raise a record-breaking $115,000 for Camp. Proceeds from the fundraiser support the Teddi Project, which sends children on a weeklong trip to Florida.
