03/07/2016 - With Commencement quickly approaching, the College will be recognizing outstanding seniors in the 2016 Countdown to Commencement video series each week leading up to the big day. Those being recognized were nominated by faculty and staff for their contributions to the Fisher community and for the impact they have made on campus.
02/29/2016 - With voters from 12 states engaging in the nominating process on March 1, Super Tuesday will be a pivotal day for the Republicans and Democrats seeking the presidency. Drs. Kathleen Donovan and Wes Renfro, political scientists from St. John Fisher College, breakdown what Super Tuesday means for candidates looking to secure the nomination, and share their predictions on who will come out on top for each party.
02/25/2016 - Four grants totaling more than $110,000 will help fund three education and leadership initiatives through the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education at St. John Fisher College. The School’s Charter School Leadership Network, Mentoring Matters, and College Club programs—all of which serve teachers and students in local school districts—each received funds that will support their operation and longevity.
02/25/2016 - On Wednesday, Feb. 10, two students from the Wegmans School of Nursing, Kate Fong and Caprice Carr, presented during the sixth annual Best Practice Sharing Session, sponsored by the Greater Rochester Area Finger Lakes Chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
02/25/2016 - For the past six years, faculty and students from the Wegmans School of Pharmacy have provided health care services to residents in Pune, India through the Koinonia Medical Clinic, a health care facility the College helped to establish in 2010 in partnership with the Koinonia Fellowship.
02/25/2016 - Six St. John Fisher College students recently traveled to Antwerp, Belgium, to participate in EuroSim, a simulation of the policy-making process in the European Union.
02/18/2016 - This fall, St. John Fisher College will offer a new Master of Science in Management degree program. Housed in the School of Business, the program is designed to provide recent graduates or mid-career professionals with non-business related degrees the opportunity to enhance their leadership and business acumen. Applications are currently being accepted for the fall 2016 cohort.
02/18/2016 - The Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling at St. John Fisher College’s Wegmans School of Nursing was recently granted an eight-year accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
02/17/2016 - Valentine’s Day celebrations lasted into this week as students from St. John Fisher College and residents of the Friendly Home stepped out in style during the annual Sweetheart Ball, held on Monday, Feb. 15.
02/17/2016 - Jim Bowman, associate professor of English at St. John Fisher College, was recently selected as a 2017 Fulbright Fellow, and will serve as a visiting professor at Ankara University. His Fulbright begins in spring 2017, and he’ll spend four and half months at the public university, located in the capital city of Turkey. Bowman will teach graduate students as a member of the faculty of education at the University.
