New Legislation to Allow Pharmacy Students to Administer Immunizations Senator Rich Funke with students and faculty from the Wegmans School of Pharmacy.

10/15/2018 - The Wegmans School of Pharmacy at St. John Fisher College, along with New York State Senator Rich Funke, announced today new legislation that will allow pharmacy students serving as pharmacy interns to deliver immunizations under the guidance of practicing pharmacists.

At Fisher, Saturdays are for Service A group of Fisher students volunteered at Bethany House as part of the College's Service Saturday initiative.

Loss Lecture Features Genetics Researcher Dr. Martha Susiarjo

10/12/2018 - The 2018 Loss Science Lecture Series at St. John Fisher College will feature genetics researcher Dr. Martha Susiarjo. Her lecture, “Genomic Imprinting as a Mechanism for Maternal-Fetal Health Programming,” will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, in Basil 135 and is free and open to the public.

10/11/2018 - Often times, heroes are portrayed as masked figures wearing capes and fighting crime, but this week, heroism came in a different form as members of the Cardinals’ men's lacrosse team, led by their head coach Dave Dobbins, joined forces with LiveOnNY in an effort to register organ donors as part of National Organ Donation Enrollment Day.

10/10/2018 - This fall, St. John Fisher College opened the new Center for Career and Academic Planning (CCAP), a one-stop shop for students seeking advice and counseling as they map their academic journey. Located on the first floor of Lavery Library, the Center is staffed by professional advisors available for walk-in meetings or one-on-one appointments.

10/08/2018 - Students and faculty in the Wegmans School of Pharmacy recently traveled more than 25,000 to six different destinations to engage in medical missions or service trips. College News Highlights caught up with four students who traveled internationally, working in health care clinics and visiting patients in their homes, to hear more about their experiences abroad.

October Brings Events, Activities for Pharmacists’ Month Wegmans School of Pharmacy Students kick off American Pharmacists' Month with the help of the Cardinal.

10/08/2018 - The Wegmans School of Pharmacy will join pharmacists across the country in recognizing October as American Pharmacists’ Month. Designed by the American Pharmacists’ Association, the month is an opportunity to educate the public about the role of pharmacists as members of the health care team, and celebrate the profession.

Field Research Sends Fisher Duo to Costa Rica Jenna Keppel spent two weeks in Costa Rica conducting biology research with Dr. Greg Cunningham.

10/08/2018 - Dr. Greg Cunningham is an expert on the olfactory senses of birds, having researched how penguins, hawks, and seabird chicks react to different odors. In the next iteration of his research, Cunningham traveled to the Northwest coast of Costa Rica to work with professors from Veritas University to test how fish might react to the scent of a chemical in the water. For this trip, he brought along senior Jenna Keppel, a summer research fellow, to work alongside him.
