10/14/2016 - This year, the St. John Fisher College men’s rugby team, the Fisher Kings, celebrates its 25th anniversary. Throughout its history, hundreds of players have worn the team’s signature green and blue and It’s a legacy former and current players say is steeped in a brotherhood that traces back to one person: team founder Gina Keyes ’93.
10/13/2016 - Every four minutes, a baby, child, or adult is diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukemia. For Caryn Hurwitz ’88, that harrowing statistic became a reality when her son, Cameron, was suddenly diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia.
10/13/2016 - In September, members of the ninth cohort of the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education’s Executive Leadership Doctoral Program heard from seven prominent leaders in the Rochester community, as they addressed issues surrounding public education, jobs, and community policing. The Rochester Leadership Panel was organized by Dr. Arlette Miller Smith, who co-teaches the program’s Leadership and Diversity course with Dr. Chris Hinesley and Dr. Jeanne Dingus Eason, the director of the program.
10/13/2016 - Next month, members of the community have the chance to hear from national and local experts on how best to improve their physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual well-being, thanks to a day-long event on holistic health care. The Integrative Medicine Symposium, slated for Saturday, Nov. 5, will be held at St. John Fisher College.

10/13/2016 - St. John Fisher College’s chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) hosted a week-long showcase of career opportunities and highlighted the benefits of AMA membership during its annual Marketing Week. From October 3-7, the schedule was filled with a mix of interactive events, professional speakers, and informational workshops.
10/13/2016 - Members of the Pittsford Art Group will show a collection of work during a six-week exhibit beginning this month. The juried exhibition, which opens Tuesday, Oct. 25, will be on display through Friday, Dec. 2, at the Patricia O’Keefe Ross Gallery, located in the Joseph S. Skalny Welcome Center at St. John Fisher College.
10/13/2016 - St. John Fisher College has been named to the 2015 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, which recognizes the nation’s leading colleges and universities for their commitment to bettering their communities through community service and service-learning. Fisher was included in the education category.
10/06/2016 - Dr. Timothy Madigan, associate professor of philosophy at St. John Fisher College, shared how Frederick Douglass became an international figure of peace through the murals of Danny Devenny, a former IRA member and current peace activist. The talk was a part of the 2016 Global Mural Conference, held in September in Fairport, New York.
