12/12/2017 - Dr. Marie Cianca, associate professor in the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education at St. John Fisher College, received a $43,000 grant from the Max and Marian Farash Charitable Foundation to continue funding for the Charter School Leadership Forums.
12/11/2017 - On Thursday, Nov. 30, students majoring in English literature presented their capstone work during the conference, “The Past Reveals Itself.”
12/08/2017 - Some of Fisher’s winter student-athletes are well on their way to successful seasons. One such athlete, Peter Girardi, a member of the men’s track and field team, was honored by the Empire 8 as the Conference’s Male Track Athlete of the Week for his performance during the Brockport Early Season Invite.
12/06/2017 - The stage reading of A Christmas Carol raised $479 for the Rochester Area Interfaith Hospitality Network (RAIHN), which provides food, shelter, and support to homeless families in the Rochester area.
12/06/2017 - Six undergraduate biology students were named winners of 2017-2018 TriBeta Research Grant Awards. In all, the students will receive grants totaling $4,308 in support of their academic research at Fisher.
12/06/2017 - This fall, Fisher’s Department of Media and Communication selected Claire Sauter ’18 and Allison Rudy ’18 as recipients of the James E. Seward Scholarship.
12/06/2017 - News 8 anchor Mark Gruba will serve as the honorary chair of the 36th annual Teddi Dance for Love at St. John Fisher College. The 24-hour dance-a-thon, which has raised more than $1 million for Camp Good Days and Special Times, will be held from 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16 through 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17.
12/05/2017 - St. John Fisher College alumnus Tim Ryan ’12, a librarian at the Monroe County Library System’s Sully Branch, was among 10 librarians honored with the 2017 I Love My Librarian Award. The prize is administered by the American Library Association in partnership with the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the New York Times, and the New York Public Library.
