The DePeters Family Center for Innovation and Teaching Excellence was created in September 2020, thanks to a generous $1 million gift from Jack '73 and Donna DePeters with an additional $1 million match from Wegmans Food Markets in honor of Jack's retirement.

Katie Sabourin, director of the DePeters Family Center for Innovation and Teaching Excellence, will share how the center is innovating teaching and learning at Fisher. This presentation will share an update on the Center, including the development of the physical location of the Center on campus and the exciting projects developing as part of this new venture.

Through the Center, Fisher will align the motto of our Basilian Fathers, “Teach me goodness, discipline, and knowledge” with the world in which our students live and learn, providing the support required to infuse teaching and learning with evolving technology, driven by pedagogy, and responsive to the world around us.

Join us to learn more about the exciting work taking place on campus!

Katie Sabourin received her bachelor of science in Information Technology and a master of science in Learning & Knowledge Management Systems from Rochester Institute of Technology. Her prior work experience includes time as an Instructional Technologist in the Online Learning department at RIT and work at Xerox as a Program Manager within the Global Learning Services department. In her role at Fisher, she supports the development of online courses and programs, consulting with faculty on pedagogical strategies and supporting the use of a variety of educational technologies on campus, as well as providing leadership and vision to a number of the Center's initiatives including the iFisher initiative, the revitalization of learning spaces and expansion of teaching and learning platforms.

This event will take place as a live webinar. You will receive an email with a link to the lecture on Zoom upon registration.
