The Basilian Fathers were founded in France on November 21, 1822, and have always been dedicated to education. They later came to the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Colombia. In 1948, they founded St. John Fisher College sharing their motto, “Teach Me Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge,” which is taken from Psalm 119.
The Mass will be the start of a year-long Bicentennial celebration. There will be displays of Basilian history across campus, and members of the Congregation plan to visit Fisher throughout the year ahead.
