Attend this informative discussion on using trauma-sensitive strategies in community settings.
Date: February 3, 2019 - February 3, 2019
Time: 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Location: Nursing 100
The discussion, facilitated by Dr. Susan Hildenbrand, is part of a yearlong series of events and “toolkit building” that promote resiliency, and in turn, help students, faculty, staff, manage stress and upset, while also promoting wellbeing.
Future sessions will be from 3 to 5 p.m. in Nursing 100 on Sunday, Jan. 20, Sunday, Feb. 3, and Sunday, March 31. Topics that will be discussed include trauma sensitive responsiveness in the classroom, community, and with children; happiness and well-being; healthy relationships; and mindfulness.
“We hope to have faculty and student engagement in these events across the year and welcome more individuals to help in the creation and facilitation of building a more compassionate and resilient campus,” said Dr. Melissa Ghera, who helped spearhead the project.
The events are sponsored by the School of Arts and Sciences, Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education, School of Business, Wegmans School of Nursing, Wegmans School of Pharmacy, Health and Wellness Center, Center for Career and Academic Planning, and the Office of Campus Life.
