Weight Stigma Awareness Week
Monday, Sept. 28 through Friday, Oct. 2 is Weight Stigma Awareness Week. Participate in a "Body Story" on Tuesday, Sept. 29 to learn more.
Date: September 29, 2020 - September 29, 2020
Time: 7 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Location: Zoom (Link TBD)
Hosted by Wellness Education in the Office of Student Engagement and Inclusion
The goal of Weight Stigma Awareness Week is to help people “understand how weight stigma and weight discrimination affects people of all sizes, how it contributes to or exacerbates eating disorders in people of all sizes, and how we can work together with a unified voice to eliminate stigma and discrimination based on body size.”
To learn more about this issue and to help you become the expert of your own body, we are going to be exploring our “body story.” This practice lets you consciously examine the messages, both external and internal, that affect your current-day relationship with your body.
