St. John Fisher College Observes Diverse Holiday Traditions with "Day of Celebration"

DOC_04.jpg On Saturday, December 5, St. John Fisher College will host its annual "Day of Celebration," an all-day, campus-wide festival that showcases holiday celebrations from various races, cultures, ethnicities, and traditions. These observations include Kwanzaa, Three Kings, Hanukkah, Christmas, Asian New Year, Winter Fest, and Ramadan. This year, the focus of the Day of Celebration is the Filipino culture. 7th Annual Philosophy Day Scheduled for November 18-19 at St. John Fisher College

St. John Fisher College will host "Philosophy Day: Philosophy and the Catholic Heritage" on Wednesday, November 18 and Thursday, November 19 in the Midlevel of the Golisano Gateway on campus. "World Philosophy Day" is observed globally as an occasion for people to reflect upon the importance of critical thinking, world peace, international cooperation, and the love of wisdom. Richard Calabrese At an early evening reception on November 17, St. John Fisher College awarded its eighth annual Justinian Medal to Richard A. Calabrese '57. In addition, the College issued a special citation and posthumous recognition of Norman A. Palmiere, Sr., Esq. '57, who was a college classmate and close personal friend of Calabrese. READ MORE...

Lavery Library Presents "El Campo: La Crisis En Silencio" Exhibit

Campo Lavery Library's latest exhibit, "El Campo: La Crisis En Silencio (Rural Mexico's Silent Crisis)," is on display through December 22 at St. John Fisher College. The exhibit features photographs by Joseph Sorrentino, taken during his trips to rural Mexico in 2003 and 2008. Featured in the Lower Level Gallery, the exhibit is free and open to the public.
