Orientation Information for Parents and Families

Orientation marks the start of your student's transition to St. John Fisher College.

First Year Students

Orientation Arrival and Departure Information

My Student is a Resident

First year resident students move into the residence halls at their assigned time. Assigned times were emailed to students and are posted on ResLife Online. This is also their check-in to Orientation. The Orientation Team will be available to help you unpack your car and move in.

Resident students receive their IDs and keys at their residence hall.

A "grab and go" lunch will be available in the Ward-Haffey Dining Hall from noon - 1:30 p.m.

Orientation begins for students promptly at 2 p.m.; families should plan to depart campus by then.

My Student is a Commuter

First year commuter students should plan to arrive on campus by noon for Orientation. Parking is in Lot A and check-in is at the Campus Center Desk (location changed as of August 21st).

Commuter students receive their IDs and parking permits at check-in if they have had their picture taken and pre-registered their vehicle. If your student needs an ID photo, visit the Office of Safety and Security. Pre-register for a parking permit online.

After check in, there will be a lunch just for Commuter students from 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m. and will include an introduction to upper-class commuters and Commuter Council.

Orientation begins for students promptly at 2 p.m.
