05/04/2017 - St. John Fisher College student Madison Hornick ’17 has been awarded a 2017-2018 Fulbright Scholarship to Malaysia, where she will serve as an English Teaching Assistant (ETA). Among the most prestigious and competitive fellowships, Hornick is one of just 100 applicants selected for the Malaysia Fulbright ETA program.
05/03/2017 - During an awards ceremony on Friday, April 28, the Center for Service-Learning and Civic Engagement honored students, faculty, and community partners who have demonstrated exceptional work in service-learning courses throughout the academic year.
05/02/2017 - On Friday, April 28, 15 students were inducted into Psi Chi, the international honor society in psychology.
04/27/2017 - St. John Fisher College’s Tom Proietti Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) received national recognition for their participation in the 2017 Bateman Case Study Competition for their public relations campaign, fisher 5 signs, which worked to raise awareness of mental health on campus, and was executed from February 20 - 24. This was the first year Fisher participated in the competition.
04/27/2017 - Dr. Evan Blaine, professor of mathematical and computer sciences and director of the Statistical Consulting Office, has been elected to serve as a Councilor in the Mathematics and Computer Sciences Division of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR).
04/27/2017 - Dr. Lauren Calimeris, assistant professor of economics, along with her colleague, Dr. Christina Peters, professor of economics at Metropolitan State University of Denver, published a paper in the Journal of Applied Economics.
04/27/2017 - Service Scholar and Honors student Kyle Cataldo ’17 and Dr. Wendi Sierra, assistant professor in the English Department, presented at the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) on Friday, March 17, in Portland, Oregon.
04/27/2017 - On Friday, April 7, faculty and in-class peer colleagues from the First-Year Program presented their work at the University of Connecticut's Twelfth Annual Conference on the Teaching of Writing.
04/27/2017 - This summer, Dr. Wes Renfro will participate in a seminar on the 20th Century Presidency, which will be led by renowned historian and public intellectual Dr. Robert Dallek, professor of history emeritus at the University of California, Los Angeles.
04/27/2017 - On Wednesday, April 19, the Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences inducted three new members to the New York Alpha Sigma Chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon at St. John Fisher College. Pi Mu Epsilon is a national mathematics honor society with chapters at 400 undergraduate institutions across the country.
