A typical day
Manage the library systems (FisherCat, WorldCat, ILLiad, Get It @ Fisher, "Everything" Search, Fisher Digital Publications, etc.). Meet with students and faculty for research consultations, buy books. Meet with OIT and other departments around campus to plan for campus IT needs. Put out some fires here or there. Fiddle with code and with image editors. Teach workshops.

Before becoming a librarian
One of my previous jobs was preparing exhibits and workshops (and cleaning wax ovens) at an encaustic paint factory and workshop center.
