12/10/2019 - This fall, the Department of Media and Communication selected Johairy Delacruz ’20 as the recipient of the James E. Seward Scholarship. Carrying a $1,000 award, the scholarship honors Jim Seward and his 41 years of college teaching, 29 of which were spent at Fisher. The scholarship was established by former students, friends, and colleagues when he retired in 2011.
12/02/2019 - Learn the benefits of mindfulness along with easily applicable ways to release stress and shift perspective during the December First Friday Lecture, led by Dr. Melissa Goodwin, associate professor and chair of the Psychology Department at St. John Fisher College.
11/20/2019 - The APA Monitor, a magazine produced by the American Psychological Association, recently profiled a community-engaged learning project designed by Drs. Kimberly McClure Brenchley, associate professor of psychology, and Lynn Donahue, assistant director of the Institute for Civic and Community Engagement.
11/14/2019 - St. John Fisher College was praised for leadership in environmental stewardship during the Seneca Park Zoo Society’s annual Environmental Innovation and Awards Symposium. Held on Wednesday, Oct. 30, the awards honored businesses, individuals, and organizations for promoting sustainability in the community.
11/08/2019 - The philosophical movement of feminist-pragmatists will be the focus of a traveling conference organized by faculty at St. John Fisher College and the Rochester Institute of Technology.
11/07/2019 - According to a recent survey taken by some St. John Fisher College students, only 38% of the respondents were able to name all five freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment. These freedoms—freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, right to assemble, and the right to petition the government—are at the center of a two-week long campaign to change that.

10/09/2019 - Dr. Jill Swiencicki, Dr. Barbara Lowe, Dr. Maria Stella Plutino Calabrese, and Dr. Fred Dotolo traveled to Rome, Italy this summer as recipients of the Richmond Summer Visiting Faculty Fellowships from Richmond, The American International University in London.
10/03/2019 - Current St. John Fisher College students, along with returning alumni, utilized their knowledge and skills from the classroom to produce a compelling presentation at the Rochester Institute of Technology’s Sports Analytics Conference (RIT SAC) on September 14. Presenters Robert Weber ’20 and Eddy Tabone ’18 showed off their work which focused on the Knighthawks, Rochester’s professional lacrosse team.
