02/22/2021 - The Wegmans School of Nursing at St. John Fisher College is now accepting applications for the newly launched online Master of Science in Nursing degree.
02/14/2021 - The St. John Fisher College Wegmans School of Nursing saw 184 of its graduates take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) in 2020 and of those, 182 passed on their first attempt, helping the School to achieve a 98.91 percent pass rate.
02/08/2021 - Three members of the St. John Fisher College community are serving on the Finger Lakes COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force. Dr. Yvette Conyers, assistant professor in the Wegmans School of Nursing and president of the Rochester Black Nurses Association; Dr. Christine Birnie, dean of the Wegmans School of Pharmacy; and Dr. Alex DeLucenay, associate professor in the Wegmans School of Pharmacy and president of the Pharmacy Society of Rochester, joined the task force this January.
12/07/2020 - The Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing at St. John Fisher College will launch a new fellowship program to develop nursing thought leaders who support and promote the health and wellbeing of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
11/25/2020 - The St. John Fisher College Wegmans School of Nursing has been recognized by nursingdegreesearch.com as one of the top schools in the country for nursing students.
11/16/2020 - The College will become the first in Upstate New York to implement an Apple 1:1 program for all undergraduate students.
10/19/2020 - The Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing at St. John Fisher College is part of a new $1.75 million grant that brings together five colleges and universities to address health disparities among individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) by strengthening the knowledge base of the health care workforce.
09/28/2020 - St. John Fisher College will create a new student support program for underrepresented minority or economically disadvantaged undergraduates studying STEM fields, thanks to a $400,000 grant from the New York State Education Department’s Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP).
09/28/2020 - Senior nursing major Morgan Levy spent her summer researching cancer survivorship programs and care plans through the College’s Summer Fellows Research Program. With new standards recently being released by the Commission of Cancer that recommends the implementation of Survivorship Care plans, Levy was looking into what has been working and what needs improvement for these plans to be successful.
09/28/2020 - Dr. Marilyn Dollinger, DNS, FNP, RN, professor and executive associate dean of the Wegmans School of Nursing, was recently elected to a two-year term as president of the American Nurses Association - New York (ANA-NY).
