135 Fisher Student-Athletes Earn Academic Accolades

One hundred and thirty-five St. John Fisher College student-athletes were named to the Empire 8 Fall 2018 President’s List and 17 of the College’s 24 varsity programs were given Team Academic Awards.

To be named to the list, recipients must maintain a minimum 3.75 grade point average (GPA) or higher while competing in a conference-sponsored sport. Recipients also must be full-time collegiate athletes and exhibit positive conduct on and off campus. In all, 817 student-athletes representing the conference’s nine full-time members and 10 affiliate institutions were recognized for their contributions on the field and their excellence in the classroom.

Additionally, Fisher had 17 teams recognized for their academic achievement as each carried at least a 3.20 GPA.  Those honored by the conference include men’s cross country (3.25), men’s soccer (3.31), men’s tennis (3.49), men’s outdoor track and field (3.20), men’s volleyball (3.28), women’s basketball (3.50), women’s cross country (3.62), women’s rowing (3.42), field hockey (3.26), women’s golf (3.36), women’s lacrosse (3.37), softball (3.48), women’s soccer (3.41), women’s tennis (3.60), women’s indoor track and field (3.50), women’s outdoor track and field (3.50), and women’s volleyball (3.62).
