Countdown to Commencement: Kelsey Michener
The next featured senior in our Countdown to Commencement video series is Kelsey Michener. An accounting and business management major, Michener is one student who has definitely made the most of her time at Fisher. She was nominated by Dave Roberts, senior associate director of freshman admissions and athletic recruitment.
Michener became involved with the Student Government Association (SGA) during her freshman year as a freshman senator, and today, serves as the association’s president. She is also a peer mentor, Service Scholar, executive intern, and member of the Teddi Dance for Love Committee.
Michener was able to help establish the Executive Intern program on campus by participating during its inaugural year as the intern in the Office of the President, and continues to serve as program coordinator in the initiative’s second year.
Roberts said that her drive to help others and make a difference on campus is the one thing he will remember most about her.
“She will do great things to impact people in a good way in her future. There is no limit to the success she will have in business,” Roberts says.
Michener’s advice for Fisher students is simple: get involved.
“Get involved early and establish yourself on campus. You kind of get to choose your path here at Fisher and that’s what’s really cool,” she said.
Following graduation, Michener will go on to work in Pittsburgh for Dick’s Sporting Goods, at their corporate headquarters.
