Countdown to Commencement: Kaitlyn Mazierski
The next featured senior in our Countdown to Commencement video series is Kaitlyn Mazierski, a Spanish and education major. She was nominated by Kelly Greapentrog, the women’s volleyball coach.
Mazierski was drawn to Fisher because she was recruited for volleyball, but found that there was much more the College could offer her. She is a two-sport athlete, playing on both the volleyball and softball teams, a First Generation Scholar, and a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Mazierski also took advantage of Fisher’s Study Abroad program, and spent last summer in Salamanca, Spain. She had the opportunity to further develop her language skills, and explore a new culture. Studying abroad over the summer gave her the opportunity to continue to play all four years of softball and volleyball.
“Katie is the life and energy in every room she walks into. She has impacted our program in such a positive way,” Greapentrog said.
After graduation, Mazierski hopes to be teaching seventh or eighth graders, and plans to go on to complete a master’s program.
“I definitely felt like I figured out who I am here, and I couldn’t thank Fisher enough for that,” Mazierski said.
