02/11/2016 - Being a fan of the Buffalo Bills in the 1990s meant a wild ride of exciting highs, countered by devastating lows, as the team won an incredible four AFC Championships, but suffered heartbreaking losses in four consecutive Super Bowls. It’s an emotional history Bills fans know all too well, and one that Fisher alumna Michelle Girardi Zumwalt ’04 was able to help recreate as a producer of “Four Falls of Buffalo,” one of the newest installments in the ESPN “30 for 30” documentary series.
02/09/2016 - St. John Fisher College received $410,000 from the Higher Education Capital Match Program (HECap) to assist in the purchase and installation of equipment for the newly opened Integrated Science and Health Sciences Building. A competitive grant program administered by the New York State Dormitory Authority, HECap requires a three to one financial match by the participating college or university to receive the funds.
02/04/2016 - Patrick McCabe and Steven Conway, St. John Fisher College students enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy/MBA joint degree program, recently won the first-ever Pharmacist Society of the State of New York Business Plan Competition, held on Sunday, Jan. 31, at the organization’s winter meeting in Saratoga Springs.
02/03/2016 - Through the Rochester Youth Year Fellowship, two recent St. John Fisher College alumni are spending their first year as graduates promoting literacy among area elementary school students. Melissa Guck ’15 and Burnette Woody ’15, were both selected as fellows in the Americorps*VISTA-sponsored program, which places recent graduates at community-based organizations for one year to create or expand initiatives that address the various challenges facing youth and families in Rochester.
02/01/2016 - Senator Rich Funke today announced a $50,000 state grant to help support St. John Fisher College's Academy for Leadership in Long Term Care, a division of the Wegmans School of Nursing.
02/01/2016 - After a year of planning and 24 hours of dancing, participants at St. John Fisher College’s 34th Annual Teddi Dance for Love raised a total of $54,043.60 to benefit Camp Good Days and Special Times.
01/06/2016 - In December 2015, President Gerard J. Rooney joined the board of the Rochester Business Alliance/ Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce.
