Drs. Dianne Cooney Miner, Marilyn Dollinger, and Kathie Dever participated in the March 26 Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency’s Cost of Poverty Experience™.

This exercise immersed the over 100 invited participants in stories of real families living both in generational and situational poverty and allowed them to experience first-hand how policies and systems help and hinder progress.

The poverty simulation was sponsored by the Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency as an important vehicle for ensuring that the needs of those in poverty are woven into the health planning process in this community.

The goal of this simulation was to assist decision makers in understanding more deeply the lives and barriers faced by the most vulnerable patients and families in the Rochester region.

The Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency Board of Directors also elected Dollinger as the new chair elect of the board at their March 23 meeting.
