Dr. Linda Schlosser, associate professor in the School of Education, was recently published in AMLE Magazine, a publication of the Association for Middle Level Education.

The article, Transition by Design, focuses on the key role that middle school plays in students' success in high school and beyond, and how teacher-leaders can use a strategy called vertical teaming to align the instructional program between schools so that young adolescents make that transition more successfully. The article tells the story of how vertical teams in one upstate New York district have improved students’ overall academic achievement and the district’s on-time graduation rates.

Schlosser also participated in a podcast interview to talk about the article and other transition topics, which will be posted on the national organization’s website.
