Arien Rozelle, assistant professor of media and communication, was recognized during the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication Public Relations Division annual conference held in early August.

During the conference, Rozelle presented two teaching briefs as part of the organization’s “Great Ideas for Teaching” sessions.

The briefs, entitled “From Acronym to Application: PESO Comes to Life” and “Diverse Voices in the History of Public Relations,” were both selected as award-winning Top Great Ideas for Teaching (Top GIFTS), and were also selected for publication in the August issue of the Journal of Public Relations Education.

“From Acronym to Application: PESO Comes to Life" allows students to engage with the Paid, Earned, Shared, and Owned model created by Gini Dietrich, while “Diverse Voices in the History of Public Relations” asks students to discover important and diverse figures in the history of public relations.

“Only six teaching briefs were chosen as ‘Top GIFTS’ so it’s quite an honor to be recognized for two of the six,” said Rozelle. “I hope this demonstrates to students how much I care about the subject matter and how hard I work to make sure they are receiving a high-quality educational experience.”
