Shay to Present at Media Economics Conference
Dr. Ronen Shay, visiting assistant professor in the Department of Media and Communication, will present his study, “Typological Classification of Online Blackout Strategies: A Case Study on the National Hockey League’s Digital Media Platform,” at the 2018 World Media Economics and Management Conference (WMEMC).
Shay’s study conceptualizes a typology of online blackout strategies to identify which strategies minimize the creation of negative brand value among audience members, while still remaining economically viable for the video distributor.
The conference will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, this coming May, and brings together leading scholars from around the world to reflect on contemporary issues in the economics and management of media industries and firms.
