President Rooney to Share Vision for Fisher during First Friday Lecture
Dr. Gerard J. Rooney, president of St. John Fisher College, will deliver a talk on the current state of the College and his vision for its future during the October First Friday Lecture.
The event, which begins with Mass and breakfast at 9 a.m., takes place at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, in the Joseph S. Skalny Welcome Center Board Room.
Since starting his tenure as president in July 2015, Rooney has led the College through several large initiatives, including the development of a new strategic plan and review of the campus master plan. He has also celebrated the opening of two new buildings—the Integrated Science and Health Sciences Building and the Hermance Family Chapel of St. Basil the Great. Rooney’s lecture will provide highlights from the 2016-2017 year, and share updates on academic programs and achievements, athletics milestones, and campus developments for the current year.
The First Friday Lecture Series, sponsored by the 1948 Society, is designed for individuals who are interested in hearing learned perspectives on a variety of topics from members of the St. John Fisher College and greater Rochester community. Parking is available in Lot A, or in Lot S (shuttle service will be provided to and from the Welcome Center).
