Fisher Gains National Recognition for Operational Efficiencies

December 5, 2017

According to an analysis by U.S. News & World Report, St. John Fisher College is among the most efficient colleges in the country.

Robert Morse, chief data strategist for the publication, develops the methodology for the U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges rankings, and using data collected for the 2018 list, assessed the operating efficiency of institutions included in the top half of the National Universities and National Liberal Arts Colleges categories. Fisher, which was ranked No. 145 in the National Universities category, was among the 25 schools that scored the highest on operating efficiency.

The list compared per-student expenditures and education quality. The publication defines operating efficiency as a “school’s per-student spending on education-focused activities divided by its overall 0-100 score … Schools on these lists achieved high ranks relative to the amount of money they spent.”
