Marketing Activities

Marketing Club

Fisher’s Marketing Club provides first-hand marketing experience, networking, and resume-building opportunities through collaboration with the American Marketing Association (AMA), local marketing professionals, and the College’s School of Business faculty and staff.

Acting as a collegiate chapter of the AMA, the club meets weekly to plan upcoming events and fundraisers. The chapter’s professional development arm offers opportunities for involvement in several different categories, including communications and media, finance, professional operations, community service, and fundraising. The group also arranges tours of local advertising agencies and marketing firms to help members experience the workplace environment and learn more about each position in the industry.

Marketing Week is celebrated annually on campus during the first full week of October. This event is a chance for AMA collegiate chapters to showcase both the variety and depth of marketing and opportunities for careers in marketing.

Rochester Professional Chapter Collegiate Conference

Fisher’s collegiate AMA chapter works closely with the Rochester AMA chapter throughout the year. One annual event sponsored by the Rochester chapter is the Rochester Professional Chapter Collegiate Conference. Conference participants benefit from mingling with and learning from marketing professionals in Rochester and the surrounding area. In addition to attending marketing programs, they are afforded guidance, networking and volunteer opportunities, and awards throughout the event’s timeframe.

AMA International Collegiate Conference

Each year, a group of undergraduate marketing students travel to New Orleans to learn from industry professionals about careers and cutting edge marketing and sales practices. AMA collegiate chapters celebrate their successes and learn chapter management techniques while communicating and networking with their peers.

At the conference, collegiate chapters are eligible for numerous awards for participation in competitions including case studies, the Northwestern Mutual Sales challenge, and overall chapter success from the year. In recent years, Fisher's collegiate chapter has won awards for the following:

  • Outstanding Marketing Week Activities
  • Outstanding Chapter Planning
  • Exemplary Collegiate Chapter Performance in Community Service and Fundraising
  • Collegiate Chapter Excellence in Communication, Chapter Planning, and Community Impact
  • Third place for best communication of chapter activities in the exhibit competition
  • Commendable mention in the Vitaminwater case competition
