Volunteering at JASY Camp is open to Fisher Junior, Senior and Graduate Students and Alumni. Learn how you can both support and volunteer in this great summer opportunity.

WHAT: Jamaican Advantage thru Sports for Youth – JASY - a non-profit organization hosts Sports Camps for at-risk children, ages 10-15, living in poor inner-city Kingston communities. JASY utilizes sports training as a vehicle to improve self-esteem, physical well-being, teamwork, shared values and cross-cultural learning. Campers enjoy a program including football, swimming, Caribbean games and Olympic Village (arts and crafts.)
Over 2,000 children have attended JASY Camp programs. JASY is recognized by the Office of the Prime Minister for its positive impact on youth character development.
St. John Fisher College is the biennial Sponsor of JASY Camp – an intensive International Service-Learning opportunity. 140 Fisher students, alumni and faculty have served at JASY.
WHERE: The JASY Camp, located at the University of Technology, in Kingston Jamaica will offer athletic and recreational activities for 140 children utilizing various venues including the pool, football fields and gymnasium.
WHEN: We travel to Jamaica on Friday May 22 and return on Sunday May 31, 2020.
WHO: Volunteering at JASY Camp is open to Fisher Junior, Senior and Graduate Students and Alumni. For those interested in pursuing a career in education, recreation/leisure, social services, this Sports Camp offers the volunteer an opportunity to gain valuable experience, while serving at-risk children. You need not be skilled in a particular sport. A big heart is what it takes. Volunteers focus on each and every camper making them feel special and blessed.
