Foreign Language Scholarship
Each year, St. John Fisher College offers two Foreign Language Scholarships to high school seniors to recognize achievement in foreign language as sound preparation for college work.
Scholarship recipients will receive $3,000 annually, over four years, if they complete four required foreign language courses over their undergraduate years at Fisher and maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA.
To qualify, students must apply for admission to the College and be nominated by a teacher or counselor; the nomination package must be postmarked by January 15, 2018.

These scholarships are available to all high school seniors with proficiency in French or Spanish, and a minimum 1000 SAT (math and evidence-based reading and writing) or 19 ACT composite score.
Students of all majors are eligible for this scholarship, with priority given to those majoring in a foreign language. (Fisher offers majors in French and Spanish.)
Candidates must be nominated by a teacher or counselor and demonstrate:
- Excellence in scholarship, character, leadership, and service
- Communicative ability in the language with complete speech utterances beyond the present tense
Regular admission standards typically include a high school GPA of B/B+ and a total SAT score (math and evidence-based reading and writing) of 1080 or higher.
