Leadership Opportunities
The Office of Campus Life provides many opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills.
Emerging Leaders Program
This is a 6-week program, which takes place in the Spring semester aimed at identifying and developing the leadership styles of underclass students. The program is open to all students, however it is geared more towards freshman and sophomore. Upon completion of the program, students will be more prepared to take on leadership roles throughout campus.
Leader for Life Conference
The Leader for Life Conference is another opportunity to develop leadership skills. The conference is collaboration between The Office of Student and the Student Government Association. In the past such topics have been goal setting, identifying leadership styles, personal development, and team building. This conference also takes place during the spring semester each year.
Conferences
Throughout the year our office receives many opportunities for students to attend conferences dealing with many different topics. If any student is ever interested in what professional conferences are available they are free to contact our office.
Campus Involvement
Finally, the most important aspect of developing leadership is to actually do it. We encourage all students to get involved with campus activities and organizations in hopes that it will help improve both their interpersonal skills as well as their ability to lead.
For information on any of the above please call the office at 385-8005.
