  1. How do I apply?
    Application instructions can be found on our Admissions Requirements page.

  2. What is the cost of tuition?
    Tuition is $27,090 for the 2008-09 academic year, which includes fees to support laboratory supplies and student activities.

  3. Are scholarships available?
    The Wegmans School of Pharmacy offers a small scholarship program. The Admissions Committee automatically notifies eligible students at the beginning of the fall semester.

  4. Can I live on campus?
    No, housing is not available on campus for School of Pharmacy students. For more information on alternative housing options, visit Rent Rochester at: www.rentrochester.com.

  5. Is a lab component required for each science pre-requisite course?
    Yes, all science course pre-requisites (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) must include a laboratory component. Advanced Placement courses are not accepted to fulfill science requirements.

  6. When is the application deadline?
    The application deadline for the 2009-2010 academic year is February 2, 2009.

  7. Is an interview required?
    Interviews are required for invited candidates only. Applicants will be contacted by phone inviting them to interview. All invited candidates must appear in person to be considered.

  8. Is there any benefit to having a Bachelor’s degree?
    A Bachelor’s degree is not required for admission. Students are eligible to be considered for admission to the School of Pharmacy after completing the equivalent of two years of college coursework, including pharmacy pre-requisite courses.

  9. Is there any advantage if I matriculate to Fisher as an undergraduate student to work on pre-reqs?
    For purposes of admission into the Wegmans School of Pharmacy, we do not distinguish between currently enrolled St. John Fisher College students and transfer students.

  10. Will Advanced Placement courses satisfy any of the pre-requisite requirements?
    Advanced Placement (AP) courses are accepted for non-science courses only with a grade of 3 or higher. An Advanced Placement Score Report must be provided to receive credit for AP courses.

  11. Are courses waived or substituted under any circumstances?
    The Admissions Committee does not waive or substitute courses. Matriculated students can request a course waiver by submitting a written petition to the School of Pharmacy Dean for consideration.

  12. If I do not complete all of the pre-requisites by the February deadline, can I still apply?
    Yes, pre-requisite requirements must be completed prior to the matriculation in the fall semester. Students lacking pre-requisite courses are accepted on a conditional basis pending the completion of required courses.

  13. What is the PCAT?  How can I obtain more information?
    The Pharmacy College Admissions Aptitude Test (PCAT) assesses one’s skills necessary to successfully complete the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum. Applicants must take the PCAT by January to be considered for fall admission. For information on exam dates and preparation, visit  www.pcatweb.info.

  14. How do I submit my PCAT scores to the Wegmans School of Pharmacy?
    Students must arrange for Harcourt Assessment to send their PCAT scores directly to PharmCAS. The reporting code is 104.

  15. How many students are accepted into the program each year?
    On average, 65 students are accepted into the program each year.

  16. How long is the program?
    The Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree is awarded after successful completion of four full-time years of study at the Wegmans School of Pharmacy. The first three years of the curriculum include professional courses intended to provide both didactic and experiential learning. The fourth year consists of clinical rotation.   17. Are students accepted into the Pharm.D. program during spring or summer semesters?
    No, the School of Pharmacy accepts students for fall admission only.
