Website Launch Information

About the Launch

We are pleased to announce that the College is in the process of launching a revamped website. You will notice that the look of the website remains largely unchanged. The real changes have occurred behind the scenes, with the implementation of a content management system (CMS).

You will see some changes in the way the site's navigation is structured. The drop-down navigation bar that appears at the top of the website will contain some new and/or changed headers, and some pages have been reorganized under these headers. I encourage you to take time to explore the menus and pages to familiarize yourself with the new navigation.

At first, the new website will not be perfect. As with any large undertaking, we expect to go through a transition phase. During this time, we will undoubtedly experience a few "bugs." We hope that you will report any problems you may encounter by using our Bug Report Form. Rest assured that, with your help, all of these issues will be resolved quickly.

Although it will require some adjustment, we think you will enjoy the benefits of the content management system. For one, the CMS will provide a consistent look to the website. All pages throughout the entire website will now share a uniform style. In addition, information (e.g. staff lists, course listings, news stories, etc.) can automatically be pulled from one section of the website on to relevant pages. For example, if a news release about a pharmacy student is posted to the news page, it can also be pulled to appear on the Wegmans School of Pharmacy page. The CMS will also allow content owners (faculty and staff members) to edit their sections of the website without the need for special software or advanced technical knowledge.

After the site is launched and reaches a "steady state," Jody and Eryn will begin the process of training academic and staff department personnel to update their own web pages. More information regarding training will follow.

Recognizing the important role that the website plays in the operation of the College, we are excited about these changes, and hope that you are, too.
