Blaine Participates as AP Reader
Dr. Bruce Blaine, Professor of Statistics and member of the Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences, was a Reader on the 2012 Advanced Placement (AP) Statistics exam. The exam readers consisted of about 600 high school teachers of the AP Statistics course and college faculty in statistics from around the U.S. The readers gathered in Kansas City, Missouri, from June 10-16, 2012, and graded approximately 150,000 AP Statistics exams.
According the Dr. Blaine, “It was a valuable experience to see the AP Statistics curriculum and learning goals through the lens of students’ exams. It also allowed me to think about ways that Fisher’s Statistics Program can be a resource for local teachers of the AP Statistics course.”
