St. John Fisher College to Observe Diverse Holiday Traditions with "Day of Celebration"
11/30/2010
This Saturday, December 4, St. John Fisher College will host its annual “Day of Celebration,” an all-day, campus-wide festival that showcases holiday celebrations from various races, cultures, ethnicities, and traditions. These observations include Kwanzaa, Three Kings, Hanukkah, Christmas, Chinese New Year, and Ramadan. This year, the focus of the Day of Celebration is the Puerto Rican culture. With the exception of the Kwanzaa dinner, all events are free and open to the public.
The festivities at the College will consist of a cultural marketplace area and stage in Cleary Family Auditorium in Kearney Hall that will feature dance, music, displays, food, and “make it and take it” arts and crafts. In the late afternoon, the celebration will move to Basil 135 where Gospelicious, an annual gospel concert, will take place.
