Accounting Professor Selected for Third Fulbright

Throughout his 27 year career as a professor in St. John Fisher College’s School of Business, Dr. Thomas Tyson has used his expertise in archival research to explore the history of accounting. It’s this blending of textual analysis and accounting expertise that earned Tyson a third opportunity to participate in the Fulbright Specialist Program, which connects experts from across the United States to short-term collaborations with universities or organizations in more than 140 countries. Mental Health Counseling Program Earns Grant to Fund New Training Program

There is a significant shortage of mental health providers to meet the needs of children in the greater Rochester region. The Graduate Program in Mental Health Counseling at St. John Fisher College hopes to address that by providing students with enhanced opportunities to gain cutting-edge skills to effectively counsel this underserved population. Housed in the College’s Wegmans School of Nursing, the Mental Health Counseling Program’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Counselor Training Program will launch this spring thanks to a $292,000 grant from Health Resources and Services Administration. Grant Gives Media Arts Lab an Interactive Makeover

This winter, the Media Arts Lab at St. John Fisher College will be transformed into an interactive learning space, thanks to a $99,255 grant from the Gladys Brooks Foundation. Housed in the Department of Media and Communication in the School of Arts and Sciences, the Lab serves students specializing in video and film production, web and graphic design, video game production, and graphics programming, among other interactive media. Employees Recognized for Milestone Service Years

Faculty and staff from St. John Fisher College gathered to celebrate milestone years of service during the annual Service Awards Ceremony. Twelve members of the campus community marked more than 20 years of service at Fisher, while more than 75 faculty and staff celebrated milestone years of five, 10, and 15 years. Together, the 112 employees recognized during the ceremony have given 1,505 years of service to the College. Read More

Women’s Basketball Team Hosts Toy Drive during Crosstown Basketball Tournament

When the St. John Fisher College women’s basketball team takes the court this weekend for the first-ever Mark’s Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout, they’ll be doing a lot more than scoring points.
