Pharmacy Students Place in Top 10 at National Clinical Skills Competition

Pharmacy students In Lok and Emma Gorman recently placed in the top 10 finalists during the national American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Clinical Skills Competition. It took place in December 2014 with 120 schools and/or colleges of pharmacy competing. This win marks the 4th time that a Wegmans School of Pharmacy finished with a top 10 team since 2009. Read More

In the wake of the recent racially fueled protests in Ferguson, Missouri, and other places around the country, a group of Fisher faculty started discussing the issues with each other as well as their students. It was when the grand jury decided not to indict any of the police officers involved in the death of Eric Garner on Staten Island that this same group decided it was time to delve into the discussion a little more. Coexistence Dinner Encourages Dialogue, Spirituality

The annual Coexistence Dinner, which took place on January 19, served as a kick-off to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Week on campus. The event attracted 114 students, faculty, and staff from Fisher as well as other local colleges for an evening of dialogue focused on breaking through pre-set barriers regarding spirituality and faith on college campuses. As part of its Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration and Coexistence Dinner on Monday, January 19, St. John Fisher College announced the 2014-2015 recipients of the Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Undergraduate Diversity Scholarship. Ms. Nicola Boroughs of Excellus BlueCross Blue Shield, presented Niecy Cameron ’15 and Lindsey Michaud ’17 each with a $500 scholarship in recognition of their involvement in Fisher clubs and organizations whose programs reflect a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and social justice. Proietti ’67 to Serve as Guest Lecturer for February First Friday Lecture

Tom Proietti ’67, Resident Scholar in Media at Fisher, will serve as the first lecturer in the 2015 Spring First Friday Lecture Series when he presents, “The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and its Influence on American Television.” The lecture will take place on Friday, February 6, in the Joseph S. Skalny Welcome Center Board Room at 10:00 a.m., and will include a 9:00 a.m. mass followed by breakfast. Read More
