Communication/Journalism students from the Public Relations Case Studies course will host
New York Times best-selling author, Rich Cohen, for a live, interactive discussion via video on Tuesday, November 27. Cohen will discuss his latest book, “The Fish That Ate the Whale,” a historical exposé of the banana trade in America.

Dr. Jill Lavigne and Dr. Fang Zhao, Associate Professors from the Wegmans School of Pharmacy, recently published a book about suicide prevention, “Frontiers in Suicide Risk: Research, Treatment and Prevention,” and co-wrote it with over 40 scientists and clinicians from around the world.

Six years ago, two service scholars saw a gap in course offerings and approached faculty about the notion of implementing service-learning (SL) into the curriculum. Faculty agreed, and quickly went to work, securing a three-year Learn and Serve Grant to support a new Community-Based Service-Learning Program (CBSL).

This year’s featured speakers included Angela Monnat, Fisher’s Director of Financial Aid, and scholarship recipient Husain Bawany ’13.
