Admissions
General Application Requirements
Applicants for graduate study must hold a bachelor’s degree
from a regionally accredited college or university and demonstrate
the motivation, ability, and preparation to successfully pursue
graduate study. While personal interviews are not required as part
of the admission procedure or used as a screening device in the
process, they are encouraged as an opportunity for the applicant
to become better acquainted with the program. Applicants may also
request an interview with the director of a specific graduate program.
The Admission Committee of each program, the Graduate Program
Director and the Director of Graduate Admissions will make a determination
based upon records of undergraduate achievement, prior graduate
work (if appropriate), scores on standardized tests (GRE, GMAT,
etc.), letters of recommendation [pdf],
and other supporting documentation where required. This determination
is subject to the approval of the Provost or the Provost’s
designee.
The materials and credentials to be completed by each applicant
include:
- A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college
or university with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or
higher. Students with a GPA less than 3.0 are encouraged to schedule an appointment to meet with a graduate
counselor.
- Application form with fee. Our application can be downloaded
[pdf] for printing.
- A personal goals statement.
- Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work
must be submitted.
- Two letters of recommendation (download
the form [pdf]).
- A current résumé.
- The results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
for students whose native language is not English.
- Standardized tests–see programs for specific requirements.
- Immunization history (download
[pdf]).
- Transfer Request Form and supporting documents, if appropriate.

- Course waiver Request Form and supporting documents. (MBA applicants
only) .
Procedure
- Prospective Students must submit a completed
application packet [pdf] for graduate study, along with
the non-refundable application fee of $30, payable to St. John
Fisher College.
- Prospective students should refer to each graduate program
for specific admission criteria.

International Students
Applicants for Graduate International Study must submit
the following:
- St. John Fisher College's Application for Admission. (viewable
and downloadable [pdf]) The application must be
signed and dated and all required information must accompany
the application when it is submitted.
- A non-refundable application fee of US $30 payable to St. John
Fisher College. In addition to the application fee, students
with transcripts from international universities will be charged
a $60 transcript evaluation fee.
- A non-refundable US $60 transcript evaluation fee payable to
St. John Fisher College.
- Original or notarized copies of academic records from all post-secondary
(college/university) schools attended. Transcripts must be submitted
in English, or must be accompanied by certified English translations.
Transfer students should also submit certified translations of
course descriptions.
- Results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
if a student's first language is not English. The minimum acceptable
score on the TOEFL is 575 for graduate study.
- Required test scores for specific Graduate Programs (GRE or
GMAT)
- Submission of Personal Goals Statement.
- Two letters of recommendation.
- A current résumé.
Once the items above have been received, an admissions decision
can be made.
Additional items required for Accepted International Applicants:
- Accepted international applicants must submit a non-refundable
enrollment deposit of US $500 payable to St. John Fisher College.
- Accepted international applicants must complete and submit
documents certifying availability of adequate financial resources.
These documents, which verify all available funds, may be one
of the following:
1. Certified Bank Statement with official signature/seal
2. An office copy of the Sponsoring Agency's Guarantee
(for agency-sponsored applicants).
Important Deadlines
Applications will be processed on a continuing basis upon
receipt in the Office of Graduate Admissions until the deadline.
Applicants wishing to apply after the deadline will
be processed based on space availability in each program.
The Program Director and admissions committee will make
a decision in less than six weeks of an applicant applying.
Please note that several education programs have different
application deadlines.
