Blackboard 9.1 Upgrade

St. John Fisher College’s current Blackboard environment is migrating to a cloud solution provided by Blackboard at the end of spring semester 2012. This will allow the College to provide a high availability environment with 99.9% production up time, dedicated IT backroom support through Blackboard, and improved enterprise class disaster recovery capabilities. The Office of Information Technology is preparing for Windows 7 and Office 2010 on-campus with plans to have the computer labs and ITECs migrated to Windows 7 and Office 2010 by Fall Semester. For our Mac Lab computers on-campus, we are planning to roll out Office 2011 by the Fall Semester. Read MoreNew Emergency Notification System

Effective immediately, the College has partnered with Rave Mobile Safety to provide an emergency alert system capable of delivering messages to your Fisher or personal email addresses, as well as your land line and cell phones.
Members of the campus community have been automatically enrolled in the program with contact information from our former provider, Fish 'R' Net, and Banner. Please log in to the Rave Alert site to confirm your contact information and update your notification preferences. (Note that your cellular phone provider may charge a per-text-message fee for the delivery of emergency notifications to your phone).

OIT is preparing the software image for Spring Semester for computer labs and ITECs. Software applications will be upgraded to their latest versions and any patches will be installed.
