Math Skills Assessment
General Information
The Math Skills Assessment is designed to test the prerequisite skills necessary to succeed in your MATH/MSTI course. The test will be given during one of your MATH/MSTI class meeting times.
If you earn an 84% or higher on the Math Skills Assessment, you will satisfy this requirement. You will then be awarded the maximum points (equal to 10% of the final course grade) toward this course component.
If you earn below an 84%, you will have up to three* additional opportunities to fulfill the Math Skills Assessment requirement. If you do not earn at least an 84% after three re-takes or after the final re-take opportunity, you will receive 0 points (equal to 10% of the final course grade) toward this course component.
*You may only retake the Math Skills Assessment once during any given week.
All questions and concerns about the assessment should be directed to Professor Anne Geraci, Math Center Director. She can be contacted by phone at (585) 385-7395 or email at ageraci@sjfc.edu.
