Math Skills Assessment
General Information
The Math Skills Assessment is designed to test the prerequisite skills necessary to succeed in your MATH/MSTI course. The test will be given during one of your MATH/MSTI class meeting times.
Those students who earn an 84% or higher on the Math Skills Assessment will satisfy this requirement. You will then be awarded the maximum points (equal to 10% of the final course grade) toward this course component.
Those students who earn below an 84% will have up to three* additional opportunities to fulfill the Math Skills Assessment requirement. Those students who do not earn at least an 84% after three re-takes or after the final re-take opportunity will receive 0 points (equal to 10% of their final course grade) toward this course component.
*You may only retake the Math Skills Assessment once during any given week.
All questions and concerns about the assessment should be directed to Rebecca Tiffin, Math Center Director. Professor Tiffin can be contacted by phone at 385-7395 or e-mail at rtiffin@sjfc.edu.
