Collaborate is the web conferencing tool used at Fisher to hold live classes online using headsets and web cameras in order to hear and see participants in the session. Collaborate is used within online courses and in special situations where students are at a distance from each other and need to communicate remotely. You can access Collaborate through a course within Blackboard. If you do not have access to Collaborate in one of your courses and you would like to use it, please email the Educational Technologist with your request. Please include the details of the assignment you will be using Collaborate for, the course name and course ID.
For additional support on using Collaborate in your courses, there are a variety of options available to you.
- Request a one-on-one training – For those new to web conferencing technology and/or Collaborate, please schedule an appointment for a one-on-one training session with the Educational Technologist.
- Review Fisher-specific Collaborate documentation (at right)
- Visit Collaborate’s On-Demand Learning Center: Web Conferencing for additional documentation and tutorials on the features available.
It is recommended that all students complete the below step before attending your first Collaborate session.
- Go to the First Time Users page and complete steps 1-3. This page will allow you to test your connection and make sure you are ready and have the necessary technology for the first Collaborate session in your course.
