Notes from the Middle Kids Room

February will be another busy month in our room! In preparing for Valentine’s Day, the second week of February we will be learning about different feelings and emotions. We are planning a Valentine Exchange Party for Tuesday, February 14. The children will design a Valentine craft, decorate Valentine cookies, sing Valentine songs, and of course, exchange Valentine cards. We are asking that the children bring 14 non-addressed Valentine cards to exchange the day of the party. We would also appreciate if your child could wear something pink or red for the party. Lastly, we will be placing a PINK or RED fruit sign-up sheet next to the parent sign-up board in our classroom next week.

We will spend the third week of February conducting a variety of exciting science experiments. The children will learn about the properties of water, cause and effect, mixing colors, and volcanic eruptions. This will be a very fun, but messy week for our class. Please be sure to send your child to school in play-clothes this week.

The last week of February, we will be reading and learning about different fairy tales. We have planned a “Royal Ball” for Friday of that week. Please dress your child in fancy clothing as they will need to be dressed for the occasion! As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child.

Thank you!
Miss Becky
