Fisher Jefferson Partnership Scholars Program
Grants & Scholarships
A major component of the partnership is the awarding of 20 grants and 10 scholarships to 8th grade Jefferson students each year since 1989. Students selected for the scholarship and grants receive monetary awards that can be used should they decide to attend Fisher. Scholarship and grant recipients also work with the Coordinator of the Fisher Jefferson Partnership to track their academic progress through high school in cooperation with parents/guardians and staff of the Rochester City School District.
Summer Leadership Institute
All newly selected FJP Grant and Scholarship recipients are invited to attend a three day leadership workshop in August. At the leadership conference, students will learn more about themselves and learn about the new expectations that high school will bring. In addition, students will learn about potential sources of support to help them toward their goal of achieving success in high school and into college.
Scholarship and Grant recipients are invited to events at St. John Fisher College throughout their high school years. These events are designed to give students a taste of the college experience, including academic, social, and financial activities that will be useful as they prepare for college.
