Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program
The Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) was created in 1969 by the New York State Legislature to help academically and economically disadvantaged New York residents gain access to the state's private colleges and universities. For more than 34 years, HEOP has provided educationally and financially deserving students with academic, financial, personal and career counseling support in order to guide students toward educational success.

"I've known since I was a junior in high school and coaching girl's lacrosse and cheerleading that I wanted to be a teacher. HEOP has given me that opportunity. Without it I don't know which college I would be at or even at one at all. Upon first learning about HEOP I was skeptical, especially when they said we were a family, but now I realize we are a family because it is a huge chain of constant support. We push each other to do our best. I love St. John Fisher College, but I love that I'm in HEOP at Fisher even more."
