Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program
The Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) was created in 1969 by the New York State Legislature to help academically and economically disadvantaged New York residents gain access to the state's private colleges and universities. For more than 34 years, HEOP has provided educationally and financially deserving students with academic, financial, personal and career counseling support in order to guide students toward educational success.

"As a Hispanic female from an urban city, I grew up with the stereotype of being incapable to succeed. HEOP has granted me the opportunity to reject that stereotype and has given me hope for a better future. I now have full intentions of graduating with a B.S. in Nursing and pursuing my dream of becoming a nurse practitioner. If it were not for HEOP, I honestly do not know where I would be. However, I know that I would not be as culturally-aware, have leadership capabilities, or be as well-rounded as I am today, had it not been for the limitless help of HEOP here at Fisher. I am beyond grateful for HEOP's generosity and investment in seeing me succeed."
