Course Requirements Management

Management Major

Requirements for the B.S. in Management include the completion of
different types of coursework:

  • Bittner School core courses
  • Additional Management courses
  • Designated Liberal Arts courses
  • Concentration courses.

At least one-half of the courses taken outside of the Liberal Arts requirement must be taken at Fisher (in other words, more than one-half of the courses in the Business Division core and concentration may NOT be transferred in).

Students should keep in mind that courses must be taken in a timely manner (e.g., the 100-level courses should optimally be taken during the student's freshman year at the College, the 200-level during the sophomore year, etc.). In addition, students must pay careful attention to course prerequisites; not doing so could delay progress through the program.

  • Additional Liberal Arts and Science courses to total 60 credits.

*   MATH 111C and 112C may be substituted for MSTA 130C.
** PHIL 273C may be substituted for REST 386D.

Notes on the Management requirements: The 60 hours of liberal arts may include no more than 9 hours of economics nor 6 hours of statistics.

Economics and Statistics courses may be taken as part of a Management major’s concentration requirements, but the number of hours of the liberal arts and sciences requirement devoted to either economics or statistics is limited in this way.

All of the liberal arts courses, except COMM 253, CSCI 150 and ECON 221, fulfill portions of the College core.

For students majoring in Management, all Business School core courses, concentration courses, and MGMT elective courses are included in determination of the grade point average in the major. Students need an overall cumulative GPA of 2.00 to graduate.
