MARK ADAMS ’92
Men’s Basketball
Mark Adams proved to be the most prolific 3-point shooter in Fisher men’s basketball history. During his playing career, Adams made 207 3-pointers during his four-year playing career -- 45 more than any other player in Fisher history at the time of induction. As a senior, Adams led Fisher to its first appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship and an overall record of 22-5, while shooting 46.2% from 3-point range. Adams, who was just the fourth player to play in over 100 games during his career, shot over 80% from the foul line for his career and at the time of induction, ranks ninth in career scoring with 1,069 points. Mark graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication/Journalism.

BECKY ARMSTRONG ‘93
Women’s Basketball
A two-time All-American and ECAC Player of the Year, Becky Armstrong
currently ranks fifth at the St. John Fisher College in career scoring
(1,273), sixth in career assists (334), and seventh in career steals
(230). She was a 77.4% free-throw shooter throughout her career.
Becky was named to the NYSWCCA and NCAA East Regional All-Tournament
teams as a sophomore, leading Fisher to a 28-3 record. As
a junior, Becky earned ECAC Upstate Player of the Year and Kodak
All-American Honorable Mention accolades, while averaging 17.7 points,
4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.8 steals per game. Though
a knee injury cut short her 1992-93 season, Becky returned the following
year to average 14.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 steals
per game to lead Fisher to a 28-1 record and its eighth straight
trip the NCAA Division III Tournament. In addition t
receiving MVP honors in seven tournaments over her final two years,
she was voted to the NYWCAA All-Tournament team three times in her
career and was the ECAC Upstate Player of the Year again as a senior.
Becky graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

COACH BOB BAYER
Football
Bob Bayer served as head coach of the St. John Fisher College football
team from 1975 to 1986. In those 12 years, he had 11 consecutive
winning seasons and posted an overall record of 81-30-2. Coach Bayer
led the Cardinals to three National Collegiate Football Association
championship titles, including two in his final two seasons. He
was also named NCFA Coach of the Year in 1985 and 1986.

SHELLY BAYHURST KURZIK ’88
Women’s Basketball
Despite suffering a season-ending ankle injury four games into
the 1986-87 season, Shelly Bayhurst returned stronger than ever
and paced the St. John Fisher College women’s basketball program
to a 30-1 record and an NCAA Division III runner-up finish the following
year. During her senior year, Shelly was named to the NCAA
Division III Final Four and the NYSWCAA All-Tournament teams and
also earned ECAC All-Star honors. Shelly ranks eighth at the
College in career scoring with 1,151 points, eighth in career field
goals with 488 and 11th with 189 career steals at the time
of induction. Shelly graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Psychology.

RON BILLITIER ’88
Football
Ron Billitier was instrumental in leading St. John Fisher College
to back-to-back NCFA Championships. As a junior, Billitier tied
the College-record for interceptions in a game with three in a
29-21 win in the championship game, and was named as an All-American
at the end of the season. Billitier, who was also a standout
club lacrosse player, finished his football career with 16 interceptions for
224 yards, more interceptions than any other player at Fisher. Ron, who
runs Billitier Electric, Inc. and is a member of the College’s Board of
Trustees, graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Science in Management.

DONNA BLANCATO ’83
Volleyball and Women’s Basketball
A two-sport athlete at St. John Fisher College, Donna Blancato
excelled in both volleyball and women’s basketball.
Donna finished her volleyball career as the College’s career
leader in points (2,002) and second in career kills (1,116).
She also set the single-season record for blocks (195). A
two-time NAIA volleyball All-American, she was also the NYSAIAW
Most Valuable Player in 1979, PCAC All-Tournament Team member and
National Championship Second Team selection in 1980. On the
basketball court, Donna totaled 1,493 career points and ranks fourth
on Fisher’s all-time scorer’s list. In 1983, she
was an NCAA Division II Kodak All-American Third Team. Donna
graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Art degree in Communication/Journalism.

JOSEPH BRADY ’70
Hockey
Joseph Brady was a key athlete for the St. John Fisher College
hockey teams from 1967 to 1970. At the age of 18, Brady was
drafted by the New York Rangers of the NHL. Brady spent time
in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) as he helped Kitchener win the
Junior “B” title while scoring three goals in the OHL
championship against goaltending legend Ken Dryden. As a sophomore,
Brady was named Fisher’s Athlete of the Year as he tallied
47 goals and 28 assists in just 28 games. Among his other
honors, he was named a Finger Lakes Collegiate Hockey League All-Star
in both years the team competed in the league. Joe graduated
from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.

RUSS BRANDON ’89
Baseball
Russ Brandon was a four-year starter for the St. John Fisher
College baseball team. He finished his career with a .367
batting average and ranks as the club baseball program’s
all-time leader in defensive assists. In his final two seasons,
Brandon served as a team captain and led the Cardinals in doubles
and stolen bases both years. The middle-infielder/pitcher
also led Fisher in 1988 with a .378 batting average. At the
time of induction, Brandon is the Vice-President/Business Development
and Marketing for the Buffalo Bills. Brandon, who was also a four-year
letterwinner in football at Fisher, is also a member of the Fisher
Board of Trustees. Russ graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Communication/Management.

BETH BUDDENDECK ‘87
Softball
Beth Buddendeck is the St. John Fisher College softball program’s
all-time leader in wins with 43. She also ranks second at
Fisher in single-season wins with 16 and third in single-season
strikeouts with 67. In 1987, Beth led Fisher to a 16-4 mark,
pitching 119 of a possible 124 innings, guiding the Cardinals to
their first NYSWCAA Championship, while earning All-Tournament honors.
She finished her senior year with a 16-4 pitching record, a 2.76
earned run average and 57 strikeouts. As a junior, Beth compiled
a 13-3 record, while maintaining a 1.37 ERA and a .394 batting average.
As a freshman she went 6-8 on the mound, as Fisher finished its
first season with a 7-8 record. Beth also played three seasons of
women’s basketball at the College. Beth graduated from Fisher
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. |

PAUL BUSSELL ‘72
Men’s Basketball
Paul Bussell was the first 1,000 point scorer in the history of
men’s basketball at St. John Fisher College. Paul is one of
only six players to rank in the all-time top 10 at the College in
both scoring and rebounding. He currently stands ninth in
career scoring with 1,059 points and seventh in career rebounding
with 587 boards. Paul was also selected to the Lincoln-Rochester
All-Tournament Team in his senior year and was a member of the 1970-71
Fisher squad that finished with a record of 19-2. Paul graduated
from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. He
currently serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of
United Cerebral Palsy of Greater New Orleans, Inc.

Margaret Casper ‘82
Women's Basketball
At the time of her induction, Margaret Casper ranks fourth at St. John Fisher College in career games played (124), sixth in career rebounds (776) and field goals (507), and seventh in career scoring (1,202 points). Margaret has been a member of both the Eastern AIAW and the Private College Athletic Conference All-Start teams, as well as the Rochester Area College All-Tournament Team. She is currently an orthopedic physician's assistant at Rochester General Hospital .

Mike Conley ‘79
Men's Basketball
A pivotal part of the 1979 NAIA District 31 Championship and NAIA tournament team, Mike Conley helped St. John Fisher College win three Private College Athletic Conference titles in his final three seasons. Mike shot 52.1% from the floor and 75.2% from the foul line for his career, and at his induction ranked sixth at the Callege in career rebounds (595), seventh in career scoring (1,139 points) and ninth in single-season field goals (199) and field goal percentage (57.6). A managing director at Rochester Financial Group, Mike was inducted into the MetLife Financial Services Hall of Fame in March 2000.

Mary Cooper Hughes ‘83
Women's Soccer
More than half of Mary Cooper Hughes '84 career points (32 goals and 20 assists) came in a breakthrough freshman season in which she scored 17 goals and 10 assists, leading St. John Fisher College to a record of 14-1. In her sophomore year, Mary moved back from halfback, scoring six goals and sic assists as the Cardinals went 14-2. As a senior, she captained her team to first-place finishes in the East Tournament and the Rochester Area Tournament. Mary also played in 106 basketball games, finishing with 441 points and receiving both Rochester Area College and Brock University All-Tournament Team honors. A mother of six, Mary resides in Phoenix , New York and coaches junior varsity boys soccer.

ROXANNE CHUPP NOETH ’91
Women’s Basketball and Softball
Roxanne Chupp Noeth played four years for the St. John Fisher College women’s basketball team and paced the Cardinals to two runner-up finishes in the NCAA Division III Championship. A two-time All-East Region selection in her final two seasons, Chupp shot 48.5% from the field over her career and scored 1,074 points, making her at the time just the ninth player at Fisher to score over 1,000 points. On the softball diamond, Chupp played for four years and drove in 40 runs in her final two seasons, while batting .446 as a junior. Roxanne graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

GREG CONSTANTINO ’00
Baseball
Greg Constantino re-wrote the Fisher record books during his playing career. Constantino graduated as Fisher’s all-time leader in hits (167), runs (111), RBIs (87), doubles (39) and walks (72). His .468 career batting average is not only a Fisher record, but ranks sixth all-time in NCAA baseball (Division I, II or III). A two-time ABCA New York Region and ECAC All-Star selection, Constantino batted .500 as a junior (a single-season record) and set the Fisher record for runs and doubles as a senior. Constantino graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies.

SCOTT COTE ’84
Football
Scott Cote holds several of the St. John Fisher College club
football program’s receiving records. Cote ranks as
the program’s all-time leader in receptions (176) and receiving
yards (2,437) and is third in career scoring with 126 points. Cote
also owns single-season records for touchdowns (13) and points
(78), as well as single-game records for receptions (14) and yards
(192). Cote, who caught at least one pass in 32 consecutive
games, was a member of the 1981 NCFA Championship Team. Scott
graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications/Journalism.

ROBERT CUPELLO ‘70
Men’s Soccer
Robert Cupello is the all-time leading scorer in St. John Fisher
College’s men’s soccer program with 180 points on 90
goals. He also holds the Fisher record for goals in a game
with seven and goals in a season with 31 in 1969. Robert scored
six hat-tricks in his final season and tallied 16 hat-tricks over
his career. He also scored a goal in 12 consecutive games
during his senior. There were no assists to his credit because
that statistic was not kept at the time. Robert graduated from Fisher
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French.

ALAN DeLISLE ’82
Football
Alan DeLisle played football for St. John Fisher College from 1978
to 1981 and quarterbacked the Cardinals to a national championship
in his senior season. Over his four years at Fisher, Alan
set four career club passing records with 5,512 yards, 40 touchdown
passes, 392 completions and 693 attempts. He also set the
single-season mark for yards with 2,668 in 1981, as well as the
single-game record for yards (340) and completions (26). Alan also
holds the club record for the longest pass (81 yards) and his four
touchdown passes in one game is also a Fisher record. Alan graduated
from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication/Journalism.

RENEE DIEMOZ WAGER’85
Women’s Soccer and Women’s Basketball
Renee Diemoz was a standout soccer and basketball player from 1981
to 1985 at St. John Fisher College. The 1985 Rochester
Press Radio Club Sportswomen of the Year finalist ranks fourth on
the women’s soccer career scoring list with 31 goals and 39
assists for 101 points. She also was the first and only four-year
captain and starter on the women’s soccer team and guided
the Cardinals to a first-place finish in the East tournament and
a second-place finish in the state tournament as a sophomore.
On the hardwood, Renee was a three-year starter, scoring 618 points
over her career and lead the Cardinals in assists, steals and field
goal percentage during her junior year. Renee graduated from Fisher
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.

KEVIN DUGAN ‘70
Honorary Inductee
In 2000, Kevin Dugan made a generous gift to St. John Fisher College
in the name of his father, Donald, whose love of baseball was renowned.
This gift made possible Dugan Yard, one of New York’s
finest collegiate baseball facilities. Dugan Yard is the first
and only baseball complex on the College’s campus. Kevin graduated
from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

MICHELLE FILLION DOBSON ‘92
Volleyball
An Academic All-American volleyball player while at St. John Fisher
College. Michelle Fillion Dobson currently ranks second at
the College in career kills (1,146) and 12th in career digs (791).
Over her final three years, Michelle led Fisher to a combined record
of 110-22 and two trips to the ECAC Championship. During her
sophomore year, Michelle tallied 397 kills, the fourth-highest single-season
total at the College, and was named to the American Coaches Association
All-Northeast Region First Team. As a junior, Michelle was
selected as a College Sports Information Directors of America Academic
All-American and named to the NYSCAA All-Tournament Team.
Michelle played in only 54 games as a senior, but still managed
to finish third on the team with kills (181) and fifth in digs (183).
Michelle graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Psychology.

GARY FITCH ’96
Football
Gary Fitch finished his playing career as the football program’s
all-time leading rushing and all-time leading scorer. A preseason
All-American, Fitch also set the Fisher single-game rushing record
with 248 yards during his sophomore season. As a junior,
the running back rushed for 916 yards and gained 191 yards receiving
to become the first player in Fisher’s Division
III history to combine for more than 1,000 yards. At the time of induction,
Fitch ranked second at the College in the following career categories: rushing
yards (2,501), touchdowns (28), scoring (169 points) and attempts (545). Gary
graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

JOE GRANTEED ’86
Men’s Basketball
Joe Granteed starred for the St. John Fisher College men’s
basketball program from 1982-86 and is the program’s all-time
leading scorer with a career total of 1,953 points. He also
averaged 18.3 points per game and is also Fisher’s career
leader in field goals and games played, while ranking second at
the College in career rebounding (867). Joe was chosen Upstate
New York “Player of the Year” in 1986 and named a member
of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-District
team in 1985 and 1986, as well as an honorable mention All-American.
In 2000, Joe was inducted into the Chase Scholarship Tournament
Hall of Fame after earning All-Tournament honors three times.

Honorary Inductee
Jim Growney made Growney Stadium possible with a generous gift
to St. John Fisher College in 1999. The stadium boasts an
all-weather synthetic playing field which is home to the Cardinals’
football, soccer and lacrosse teams. Lights and a 2,100-seat
grandstand provide spectators with a bird’s-eye view of the
playing field. An electronic scoreboard and an enclosed press
box complete the stadium. Jim graduated from Fisher with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics

LORI HARGATHER ’93
Women's Soccer/Women's basketball
Lori Hargather was one of the top players for the St. John Fisher
College women’s
soccer and basketball programs during the early1980s. As a soccer player,
Hargather helped pace her team to a 52-12-1 overall record during her four-year
career. She also tallied 150 points on 56 goals and 38 assists, good for
second on the all-time points lists. On the basketball court, Hargather
played for four seasons and served as a team captain in her senior season. She
finished her four-year career with 468 points, while helping lead the Cardinals
to a combined record of 111-20. Lori graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Sociology.

Women’s Basketball
Susan Heidt was a standout on the St. John Fisher College women’s
basketball program from 1986 to 1990. In 1990, Susan was heralded
as the NCAA Division III Player of the Year in addition to being
named to the Kodak All-American First Team for the second straight
year. Susan also received various accolades during her senior season
including: Champion Products Player of the Year; New
York State Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Year; ECAC
Upstate NY Player of the Year and Rochester PressRadio Club Sportswomen
of the Year. Susan currently ranks second all-time in scoring with
2,019 points and set the single-season scoring record with 766 points
as a senior. Susan graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of
Arts degree in English.

BRIDGET HENDERSON SENFELD ’95
Women’s Basketball
Bridget Henderson Senfeld was a four-year letterwinner for the St. John Fisher College women’s basketball program and helped the Cardinals advance to the NCAA Division III Championship all four seasons. A Kodak All-American selection as a senior, the 5-foot-6 guard averaged 11.5 points, 4.2 steals and 4.1 assists in her senior season. During her career, Henderson was also named to seven all-tournament teams, including three Most Valuable Player selections. Two of Henderson’s MVP performances came in the New York State Women’s Collegiate Athletic Association, making her the only two-time MVP in the championship’s history. At the time of induction, Henderson ranked ninth at Fisher in career steals with 227. Henderson graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.

JEFF HOLBROOK ’88
Football
Jeff Holbrook was a member of the St. John Fisher College football
team from 1984 to 1987. In his four-year tenure, he played
an active role in leading the Cardinals to two national championships.
Jeff was two-time National Collegiate Football Association (NCFA)
First Team All-American at receiver and was awarded the NCFA Offensive
Player of the Year in 1986. Jeff, who was a member of
Fisher’s inaugural NCAA Division III team, finished his career
with 184 receptions, 2,690 yards and 184 points. Jeff graduated
from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication/Journalism. |

LORI HOLLERAN-COOK ’93
Volleyball
Lori Holleran Cook enjoyed an extremely successful volleyball career at Fisher, while pacing the Cardinals to a 144-33 record during her four years. She finished her playing career in either first or second place on Fisher’s career list for kills, aces and blocks. The Most Valuable Player of the Mt. Holyoke Tournament as a senior and an All-State selection as a junior, Holleran ranks third at Fisher in career kills (1,121) and seventh in career blocks (337) at the time of induction. Lori graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

MARK JOHNSON ’86
Men’s Basketball
Mark Johnson shined at point guard for the St. John Fisher College
men’s basketball program from 1982 to 1986. Mark ranks
as the Cardinals’ career leader in assists (544) and steals
(154) and played three of his four seasons while Fisher competed
at the NCAA Division II level. Mark also owns the mark for
assists in a game with 16 and boasts the fourth and fifth highest
single-season assists totals (164, 1984-85 and 142, 1982-83).
At the time of induction, Mark was also tied for 13th with 99 career
games played and 16th in career scoring with 846 points. Mark
graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management.

Mick Kubik ‘84
Football
Mick Kubik anchored the offensive line at St. John Fisher College and received All-American and All-Conference honors in each of his four seasons. He played a key role in leading Fisher to its first national championship in 1981. Mick was active off the field as well, serving as President of the Student Government Association as senior and as a resident advisor for two years. In 1983, he was named the Louis and Nellie Skalny Scholar for History. Mick, a trustee of Alden Village Board, has worked for the last 11 years in Erie Country in programs for physically-handicapped children. He is married with two children.

Tomi Lahcanski ‘79
Men's Soccer
Tomi Lahcanski scored 22 goals in his freshman year and went on to lead St. John Fisher College in scoring for three consecutive seasons. A three-time Private College Athletic Conference All-Star selection, Tomi was named to the NAIA District 31 All-Star Team in his senior year. Tomi later played two seasons in the National Canadian League. At the time of his induction, the married father of three is the Competitive Strategy Director of Production Systems for Kodak, where he has worked for 20 years.

TODD LEXER ‘94
Football
Todd Lexer set many of St. John Fisher College’s NCAA Division
III football records, including career tackles (382), tackles ina
season (135) and tackles in a game (23). Following his 23-tackle
performance, the senior linebacker was voted a the USA Today/Don
Hansen Division III Defensive Player of the Week and ECAC Defensive
Player of the week. As a sophomore, Todd led Fisher with four
interceptions and ranked second on the team with 76 tackles.
After missing the 1991 season with a knee injury, he returned to
tally 130 tackles (the second-high single-season total at the College)
and was named to the 1992 ECAC Upstate First Team. At the
end of his record-setting senior year, Todd was named to the Champion
All-American team and earned USA Today/Don Hansen All-American Honorable
Mention status. Todd graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Political Science.

THERESA PROSPERO ‘81
Women’s Basketball
Theresa Prospero was the floor general for the St. John Fisher
College women’s basketball program from 1977 to 1981.
She ranks as the College’s all-time leader in steals (512)
and assists (491) and also holds the single-game record for both
categories. Theresa set the single-season record for assists
with 200 as a senior after dishing out 155 assists as a junior.
A two-time PCAC All-Star, Theresa ranks fifth at the College in
games played with 120 and sixth in career scoring with 1,229 points.
Theresa graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Science degree
in Management.

LOUISE MacDONALD ’88
Women’s Basketball
Louise MacDonald was a strong contributor to the St. John Fisher
College women’s basketball program from 1984 to 1988. Among
her many honors, Louise was named an NCAA Division III First-Team
All-American and earned the Eastern College Athletic Conference
Player of the Year award in 1988. The basketball star was
also named the Democrat & Chronicle Player of the Year at the
conclusion of her senior season. Louise currently ranks second
at Fisher in career field goal percentage, hitting 58.6% of her
shots over her four-year career, fourth in career assists (371),
sixth in career steals (235) and is 11th on the all-time scoring
list with 1,081 points. Louise graduated from Fisher with
a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

Men’s Basketball
Adam Moore helped dominate St. John Fisher College dominate at
men’s basketball in the early 1990s. Adam ranks second
in career scoring with 1,888 points from 1990 to 1994. He
is also tied for second in career field goals (701), career scoring
average (18.3 points per game) and games played (106). Adam also
ranks third in career rebounding with 702 boards and fifth in career
3-pointers with 133. A pre-season All-American for the 1993-1994
season, Adam set the single-season scoring record with 611 points
and was named the MVP of two tournaments in his final season. Adam
was also a three-time Chase Scholarship All-Tournament First Team
Selection and was inducted into the Chase Scholarship Tournament
Hall of Fame in 2001. Adam graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Psychology.

WAKILI MOORE ‘90
Men’s Basketball
Wakili Moore’s 74 3-pointers during the 1989-90 campaign
are the most in one season in St. John Fisher College history.
Wakili enters the Fisher Athletics Hall of Fame ranked in the top
10 in many categories, including: fifth in career free throw shooting
(82.0%) and single-season free throw shooting (87.8%), and sixth
in career 3-pointers (131) and career scoring (1,151 points). A
two-time Rochester Classic All-Tournament Team selection, Wakili
served as a team captain as a senior, when he led the team in scoring
and was named to the Chase Scholarship All-Tournament Team. At
the time of induction, Wakili works at School No. 7, where he is
the youngest principal in the Rochester City School District.

ROBIN MORTENSEN ’83
Women’s Basketball
Robin Mortensen is St. John Fisher College’s all-time leading
scorer and rebounder, collecting a total of 2,421 points and 1,508

totals are New York State records, as is her record for blocked
shots (411). A four-time selection to the NYSAIAW and Rochester
Area Colleges All-Tournament Teams, as well as the Private College
Athletic Conference and Widmer’s All-New York State All-Star
squads, Robin ranks as Fisher’s all-time leader in games played
with 130. Robin was voted Rochester Press-Radio Club’s “Sportswoman
of the Year” her senior season and was named to the Kodak
All-District and All-America First Teams in her final two seasons.
Robin, who also played four years of volleyball at Fisher, graduated
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.

SUE MULRONEY ’79
Women’s Basketball
Sue Mulroney ranks second on St. John Fisher College’s all-time
women’s basketball scoring list, with 1,849 points. In 1979,
she was named Rochester Press Radio Club’s Sportswoman of
the Year after being selected as the New York State College Player
of the Year as a sophomore. In each of her four years, Sue was named
to the Private College Athletic Conference All-Star team, the NYSAIAW
All-Tournament team, and the Rochester Area Colleges All-Tournament
team, where she was a two-time MVP. Sue, who also competed in volleyball
for Fisher, graduated from the College with a Bachelor of Arts degree
in Communication/Journalism.

BOB REZNY ’80
Basketball
Bob Rezny led the St. John Fisher College men’s basketball
program from 1976 to 1980 and ended his playing career as the program’s
all-time leading scorer with 1,733 points (now fourth all-time)
and rebounder with 683 boards (now fourth all-time). Bob was
chosen as the Upstate New York Player of the Year in 1980 and was
a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics
All-District team in 1978, 1979 and 1980. He was also an All-American
Honorable Mention selection as a senior and as a junior, he was
named as the Chase Scholarship Tournament’s MVP. Bob
graduated from with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management.

ARNIE ROESE ‘79
Men’s Basketball
Throughout his four-year tenure with the St. John Fisher College men’s basketball team, Arnie Roese guided the Cardinals to three consecutive PCAC titles, including an NAIA District 31 championship in his senior campaign. Known as a prolific passer on the hardwood, Roese finished his collegiate career as the College’s career leader in assists with 481 and currently ranks second in all-time assists. He posted 198 assists in 1979, good for second on the college’s all-time single season record list, while leading the Cardinals to the NAIA national tournament. He finished ninth all-time in games played (102), while posting 727 points over the course of four years. Arnie graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Science in Management

Jack Palvino ‘55
A member of the St. John Fisher College 's Pioneer Class, Jack Palvino helped elevate Fisher's football program from a club team to its current NCAA Division III status. Jack has also been a Trustee for the last decade and was the first alumnus to be voted Chairman of the Board of Trustees (1992-1995). A dominant radio personality for 20 years, Jack formed the Lincoln Group and purchased WVOR, WHTK, WPXY, and WHHR in Rochester , WBUF in Buffalo and WSOM in Youngstown , Ohio . In 1999, St. John Fisher College honored Jack for his contribution to the College by creating the Jack Palvino Communication/Journalism Hall of Fame. Jack has been married for over 40 years and has three children.

JOHN SCHMITZ ’80
Football
John Schmitz was a standout player for the St. John Fisher College
football team. Schmitz was the first player at Fisher to
be named as a four-time National Collegiate Football Association
First-Team All-American. As a senior, Schmitz was named as
the NCFA Defensive Player of the Year. He also served as
the team’s defensive captain in his final three seasons,
while leading his team in tackles. Following his player career,
Schmitz was a member of the Fisher coaching staff that helped lead
the Cardinals to the 1981 national championship. John graduated
from Fisher with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.

TIM SNYDER ‘85
Football
Tim Snyder was an outstanding player on both defense and special teams for the St. John Fisher College football program. He was named All-American and All-Conference, while leading the Cardinals to a 1985 NCFA National Championship. Snyder tallied 15 interceptions during his playing career, one shy of the all-time record. He also excelled as a kick returner and holds Fisher records for yards in a game, season and career. Tim graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Science in Management.

CHRIS SULLIVAN ‘94
Men’s Basketball
Chris Sullivan helped elevate the St. John Fisher College men’s
basketball program into a national power in the early 1990s.
Chris holds several Fisher records, including: rebounds in a game
(24), rebounds in a season (319), career rebounds (956) and career
scoring average (19 points per game). He also ranks tied for
second in career field goals (701), third in career scoring (1,880
points) and fourth in career 3-pointers (142). A two-time
NABC Second-Team All-American, Chris led Fisher to its first two
NCAA Tournament appearances. Chris was voted to the Chase
Scholarship Tournament’s First Team in his first three seasons
and was named the Tournament’s MVP as a senior. In 2001,
Chris was inducted into the Chase Tournament’s Hall of Fame.
Chris graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.

STEVE SULLIVAN ‘85
Football
Steve Sullivan was a standout defensive back for the St. John Fisher College football team. Sullivan led the Cardinals to a 28-4 overall record and the NCFA playoffs in each of his three seasons. The All-American tied the all-time interception record with 16 over his three-year tenure and started all 32 games for Fisher. The Cardinals compiled a 26-2 regular season record with Sullivan in the secondary. He led the Cardinals to a 25-13 win over Siena College in the 1985 NCFA National Championship game. In the championship game he tied a single-game record with three interceptions, while recording eight tackles and breaking up five passes. Sullivan, who was named team captain in 1985, tallied a single-season-record nine interceptions that same year. Steve graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Science in Management.

THERESE TOBIN ’88
Women’s Basketball
Therese Tobin was a member of the St. John Fisher College women’s
basketball team from 1983-88 and helped guide the Cardinals to the
NCAA Division III title game during her senior season. Therese finished
her four-year career ranked second in career rebounds with 926 and
her 301 rebounds in her junior season are the sixth-highest single-season
total. She also ranks among the College’s all-time leaders
with 974 points and 162 steals. Therese was named to
the NYSWCAA All-Tournament team, the ECAC All-Star team and was
a preseason All-American in her senior season. She also was
named to the NCAA Division III East Region All-Tournament team during
her junior year.
Therese graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
History.

BOB TUITE ’81
Men’s Tennis
Bob Tuite excelled in the classroom and on the tennis court during
his days at St. John Fisher College. He is a two-time National
Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Academic All-American and
during the 1979 and 1980 seasons, he was named NAIA District 31
singles and doubles champion. Bob was also the Private College
Athletic Conference singles champion in 1980 and runner-up in 1979.
He also reigned as PCAC doubles champion in 1980 and 1981.
During his four-year tennis career, Bob compiled a career singles
record of 42-16 and a doubles record of 28-17. Bob graduated
from Fisher with a B.S. in Biology.

RAFAEL VIDAL ’94
Baseball
Rafael Vidal excelled not only on the baseball diamond, but in
the classroom as well. A GTE Academic All-American, Vidal
finished his playing career with a .424 batting average. At
the time of induction, Vidal ranked as the program’s all-time
leader in stolen bases with 38 and was also on the career top 10
list for hits, runs, doubles and triples. As a junior, Vidal
set the Fisher single-season record for stolen bases with 20, and
in his senior season, the shortstop post a .438 batting average,
while leading his team in hits, runs, doubles, triples and stolen
bases. Rafael graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Science
in Accounting.

COACH BOBBY WANZER
Men’s Basketball
Bobby Wanzer became St. John Fisher College’s first men’s
basketball head coach in 1962 and led the Cardinals to an overall
record of 311-239. During his 24 years of coaching at Fisher,
he had 15 winning seasons. In 1987, Coach Wanzer was inducted
into the National Basketball Association Hall of Fame. He
was a six-time NBA All-Star with the Rochester Royals from 1947-55
and the League’s Most Valuable Player in 1953. He finished
among the NBA’s top 10 in field goal percentage four times
and free-throw percentage five times. Coach Wanzer served
as Fisher’s men’s athletic director and coached the
College’s golf team.
