The faculty, staff, candidates and school partners of the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. School of Education at St. John Fisher College welcome the Board of Examiners from the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), a professional organization committed to strong standards and rigorous accountability for the preparation of teachers and educational leaders. The Board of Examiners will visit our campus this fall from November 12-November 16, 2011. We are proud of the work we do each day to meet our mission, to provide a quality educational experience that prepares candidates for distinguished careers in their chosen profession and for leadership roles in a diverse, rapidly changing, and increasingly technological society. We are convinced that a great education begins with a great teacher, so we hold ourselves accountable to those children, families, and communities who will benefit from the excellence of Fisher teachers and educational leaders. This accreditation visit supports our accountability to the highest standards in teacher and leader preparation. Evaluation by our peer education professionals will help us examine the results of our efforts to contribute in meaningful ways to a more just world and to prove by our actions, not just our intentions, that all children can and will learn when they are taught by knowledgeable, skilled, compassionate teachers. This, our second evaluation by NCATE, will contribute to our continuous momentum toward that vision.
