St. John Fisher College recognized Jill Knittel as the 2015 Outstanding Accounting Alumnus of the Year during the 26th annual Accounting Awards Banquet, held Thursday, March 19. Knittel, financial advisor at Sage Rutty & Co., Inc., was honored for her noteworthy career achievements, significant humanitarian efforts, and outstanding contributions to the Fisher community. St. John Fisher College Names 7th President

St. John Fisher College announced the appointment of Dr. Gerard J. Rooney, currently Executive Vice President for Enrollment, Advancement, and Planning at Fisher, as its 7th President. The announcement was made by Victor Salerno ’66, Chair of the College’s Board of Trustees, along with Martin Birmingham, Vice Chair. Rooney’s appointment is effective on July 1, 2015. Read More

Club Hockey Team Wins National Collegiate Hockey Association National Tournament

The St. John Fisher College Cardinals Hockey Club, of the Upstate New York College Hockey League, won back-to-back games to secure a National Championship and bring home the Founders Cup Trophy at the National Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) National Tournament. The tournament took place from March 4-7 in Newark, Ohio, at the Lou & Gib Ice Arena. Read More

2015 Lobene Lecture to Feature Best-Selling Author Dr. Sherry Turkle March 23

St. John Fisher College will present the 2015 Lobene Lecture on Monday, March 23, featuring MIT professor and best-selling author, Dr. Sherry Turkle. Her talk is being sponsored by alumnus Mark Lobene, who established the Lobene Lecture Series. It is also being supported by the Digital Cultures and Technologies Program in the School of Arts and Sciences. The lecture will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Cleary Family Auditorium, and it is free and open to the public. Read More
